This is supposed to be THE place to get your SID repaired, and I think they also rebuild the ABS module: http://www.bba-reman.com/

I didn't read the whole thread, but I tried a couple of those with little improvement. A guy I go to church with who drives a 9-3 hatch tried the iron trick and ended up destroying the unit. I've also heard bad things about the iron/soldering iron techniques, so I'm not too keen on those.

On the other hand, I hear really good things about BBA reman fixing it permanently and for something like $65, so that seems like a winner.

I wanted to add another link on here.

At our February meet, we had both Ted and Chris Jockel (Chris being the other long-time SAAB tech in Jacksonville, for those who don't know) extolling the virtues of Chevron gasoline for keeping our engines clean and running well due to the Techron additive that Chevron uses.

So I thought I'd look for Chevron stations near me since I couldn't think of too many. Fortunately, I discovered that there are three that are very close to my house, it's just that none of them are on my daily routes, so I wasn't really aware of them.

So anyway, if you want to find Chevron stations near you, take a look here:
