While we've been asleep at the wheel...

Postby metrognome » Tue Apr 26, 2011 2:44 pm

... Saab's not been doing well.

Apparently, sales are a fraction of what was expected, and Spyker is trying to get that Russian investor to buy part of the company. The powers that be in Europe are not too keen on this guy, so they're in wait and see mode.

"We"??

Do you have a mouse in your pocket? ;)

Been following this since the unexpected shutdown 2 weeks ago.

People on the ground in Trollhatten think it is just a hiccup. I hope they're right.

Looks like Vladamir Anatov is in. Time for a breather, but there's still talk of Chinese involvement.

I won't take a breather till the factory starts rolling again and I see their "cash-cow" 9-4x's all over the roads. :|

Saab/Spyker is now partly Chinese owned: http://inside.saab.com/press-release-sa ... rtnership/

Factory is gearing up for production again: http://inside.saab.com/production-prepa ... utomobile/

So now our Swedish car company is owned by a Dutch company, which is partly owned by a Chinese company, it's future engines will come from BMW, and the 9-4x is going to be built in Mexico, if I remember correctly.
