I just bought a 200 93 convertible. I've never owned a Saab and I certainly do not know the lingo, but I figured it is a crime to live on the beach and not own a convertible. I love the way this car drives. If only I can make the top go all the way down and make a few idiot lights go off, I'll love it even more! :D

I don't know any mechanics that work on them. (other than the dealer of course) and still have no idea how to do certain things on the car (like turning on the rear window defroster on the convertible... lol) but I'll plod my way along.

Looking forward to learning more about this car and interacting with the members of this forum. Thanks!

Welcome. Good to see more new members lately. Since your up in Jacksonville area, best bet is Ted (above) for any Saab related workings.

For your rear defrost, depends if you have manual or auto climate control. if manual, there is a switch right beside the AC/Snowflake button. On the ACC, there also is a rear defroster button on the dash panel. If you dont have an owners manual, grab one off ebay or such. Will help you a lot in learning new vehicle.

#1 thing on your B205 engine, stick to 5,000 mile oil changes with Mobil 1 FULL synthetic with a good quality oil filter (Mobil 1, Bosch, Mann)

Thanks for all the input so far. I have to say, I've had plenty of foreign cars, but I've never been so clueless about a car as this one. Looking forward to being functionally literate in Saab-ese.

I also just noticed a typo in my original post. I purchase a 2000 93.
